Terras Gamos, which means "Earth Union" or a sacred marriage to the land, is an invitation into conscious partnership between humans and the Earth herself.

Terras Gamos is the body of work that chronicles the journey into Earth partnership, including the Love Story between humans and the land, the illusion of separation from her, the reclamation of our creative birthright, or divine sovereignty, our élan vital (life force energy), and the development of personal Earth offerings.

At the heart of Terras Gamos is a wedding ceremony between humans and the land.

The Great Separation

Our separation from the Earth has disconnected us from our life force energy. Our ancestors used to prioritize and revere Earth, with land connection practices woven deeply into their way of life, across cultures and time. They understood fundamental truths such as the inextricable link between the health of the land and the health of the people. They were measurably more alive than we are today.

As the world changed, our ancestors lost their connection with the land as the ways of extraction replaced the ways of offering. Eventually, they passed down a legacy of separation and resulting cultural unwellness to the younger generations, those alive today. The consequences of this disconnection echo through our modern world, manifesting as spiritual poverty despite material success, mental and emotional suffering, chronic health epidemics, and a pervasive sense that something vital is missing.

Separation consciousness stops with us.

The human family’s life force, our unique expressions of aliveness such as our creativity and emotions, have been systematically repressed and eroded. Our life force is being taken from us as fuel for the dominant systems that define our world. We find ourselves trapped in situations that drain our energy while offering shallow rewards, most of us yearning for something more authentic and meaningful.

Not only is our own life force energy being depleted, but life on Earth is slowing down. We see rapid loss of plant and animal life around the globe, large-scale shifts in weather patterns, the destruction of life-giving ecosystems, and even declining sperm count within the human family.

As humans, we have lost touch with our essence of aliveness because we no longer prioritize a way of living that is life-generative, a direct consequence of losing our connection to the natural world. The natural world is where all life begins.

The Untouchable Wellspring

But the undeniable truth is that inside each of us lies a deep, untouchable wellspring of vitality that is waiting to come roaring back to life.

As beings of the Earth, humans are defined by our connection to life itself- the animating presence within all life forms of the Earth community.

This life force, a universal concept known by many names throughout many cultures (qi, mana, prana, shakti, etc.), represents our birthright as humans, our connection to our humanity and the natural world through channels of creativity, the heart field of emotions, our relationality, our authenticity, and so much more.

Through the alchemical process of a land ceremony such as Terras Gamos, the human family is invited to return to our original essence, our aliveness.

Although many aspects of modern culture have eroded our life force energy, many other aspects have brought us remarkable gifts and exquisite delights.

The world is no longer what it was, and humans today are not meant to choose between modern culture and our connection to the Earth.

Instead, Terras Gamos is a great weaving, integrating the gifts of contemporary living with the eternal wisdom of the land. It is based on the philosophy that if, as humans, we reconnect with our life force, we may then choose to divest it from the extractive systems that are waging a war on life.

We can remember life as sacred, reclaim life force energy itself, and invest it back into the land.

Humans are wildly creative, original, and divine. When in right relationship with Earth, we have even greater potential to amplify our gifts and co-create with her to rebirth a modern, land-based culture that is grander, more magical, and more life-giving than we have ever seen before.

When reunited with the land and in conscious partnership with her, together the human family and the earth can create the conditions for life force energy to revitalize and for new life to emerge.

We do not have to forsake the safety and comforts of the modern world in order to restore our vitality and creative expression; we only need to align with the Earth, our home. Together, we can create a cultural rebirth defined by creativity and restoration, architecting an advanced expression of harmony we’ve never seen before.

Revival of Ceremony

As we rehabilitate ourselves from the life-taking aspects of modern culture and reorganize around the life-giving ones, we remember certain integral ways of being that were lost to the dominant world.

One such life-supporting practice we are remembering as a human family is ceremony.

For all of time, ceremony has been a central thread connecting the human family across cultures and generations to aspects of life that were meaningful.

Humans have always held ceremonies, at times in grand ways and at other times gently and subtly woven into the fabric of the everyday.

Today, we see the echoes of ceremony in certain religious practices such as baptisms and certain secular practices such as graduations, as well as the most obvious modern-day ceremonies of weddings and funerals.

However, the human family used to come together in ceremony for widely diverse and prolific reasons.

Ceremony has been held throughout history to commemorate a birth, mark the harvest, support a life transition, initiate a rite of passage, ask for change, receive a healing, pray with community, making an offering to the land, celebrate abundance, ask for rain, mourn a loss, sing for liberation, go to war, commune with plant medicines, and so much more.

Ceremony is an ancient technology that incorporates elemental alchemy, energetic connection, emotional presence, and community participation to initiate a transformation and create a portal for change. Ceremony is a formal dialogue between humans and the more-than-human world, weaving the sacred with the everyday.

Elders say that the ways of ceremony are being revived to guide and support the human family through this pivotal time in planetary evolution.

Ancient wisdom traditions prophesied this era, heralding the end of the long dark night and on the verge of awakening to a state of harmony on Earth, made possible only when the human family reconnects with the Earth and the divinity inherent within ourselves.

The Earth herself is calling on us to mature, to remember our role as her partners and allies, not her dominators.

Through the land ceremony of Terras Gamos, we formalize ourselves as partners to the Earth in a ceremonial marriage that brings us back together, symbolizing the mending of a great tear, dissolving the illusion of separation.

Terras Gamos is the weaving back together of humans and the Earth that is life-generative and true, marking the beginning of conscious unity after generations of separation and wounding.

From Parent to Partner

An earlier time in human history found us in the role as children of the Earth, learning from her and dependent upon her for life and growth.

As we grew beyond our innocence and left behind our awe, reverence, and gratitude for our mother, we took on the qualities of an immature, adolescent culture defined by short-sightedness, extractive values, and distorted priorities.

Earth continued selflessly giving and nurturing the human family despite the drastic change in how we grew to relate to her. She gave and gave, until now her giving is slowing as she works to heal and rebalance herself.

The Earth herself is on a path of ascension, speaking through atmospheric changes and asking the human family to put down our weapons and turn towards her with love once more.

It is time that we, the human family, evolve from children of the Earth to partners of the Earth.

She does not need us to heal or save her, she is more than capable. Rather, she needs us to heal ourselves so that we can align with her and become her partners, supporting her the way she has always supported us.

In this way we can restore the conditions for vitality on Earth, welcome in the new life that wants to arrive, and meet this moment in profound planetary transition as united beings.

Union is our liberation.
